This heartwarming story of a deaf and blind dog is sure to brighten your day. Plum, her name, is a 10-month-old Australian Shepherd dog with a disability. Aiden Michael Mann, her adoptive father, had problems waking her up from her naps at first since she was always afraid of even the tiniest contact, but now he has discovered the most charming method to do it.
“In July of 2019, I received Plum. She was 6 months old and the most adorable pup. My coworkers work with numerous rescue organizations, and they were caring for her and her brother while they tried to find them a home. When she brought Plum to work, I immediately loved her and loved her.”
She is a cute and charming little girl who is learning to be independent with the help of her adoptive father.
After a few tries, he discovered the ideal method to wake her up without causing Plum to leap in fear. Aiden breathes lightly on her muzzle; she jumps up, shocked, but immediately searches for her father to snuggle up next to her.
Aiden shared his specific technique for waking up Plum on TikTok, and the video quickly went viral, receiving almost 13 million likes and being seen nearly 54 million times.
“I had no clue I’d receive that many views. When I returned and checked TikTok, I was astounded to see their video had gone viral.”
Aiden stated how tough it was for him to interact with Plum owing to his restrictions; it was all a trial and error process.
He stated the following:
“The most difficult part was definitely learning to communicate and figuring out what works and what doesn’t. Because no two dogs are alike, what works for one may not work for another. So it took a lot of trial and error for us to get on the same page.”
“Plum is the most content and loving dog you’ve ever met. Her favorite toy is a ball, she enjoys curling up, and she like to be wherever Lola and I are.”
Plum adores napping, and Aiden is constantly on the watch for her.
Plum is a joyful and educated man who refuses to be swayed by his limits.
“It took her a while to memorize the house, get acclimated to how things were set up, and get used to how we did things. She and Lola hit it up immediately, and Lola rapidly became her ‘security blanket.’”
Plum adores hikes and the company of Lola, her adopted sister, who is constantly nearby and looks after her.
Despite her challenges, Plum is incredibly fun and full of affection for her wonderful father.
According to Aiden:
“What I like most about Plum is that, despite her disabilities, she never lets them define her. She still enjoys life to the fullest and is a very happy dog.”
